Already certified/trained in Contemporary and looking to bridge to Classical?
Great news, that’s my passion. I was originally trained and certified through Stott for all matwork, and comprehensively certified on all apparatus through Balanced Body. I can offer a unique perspective on the challenges of bridging over with no judgement and immense compassion.
Email Amy directly at info@oxygenmb.com and we can discuss where you are on your journey and where you’d like to go! We’ll build a program together, specifically for you.
About Me: Amy Cieslik Mena
You might want to know a little more about who is actually delivering this program, right?
I’ve had a passion for movement my whole life. A former competitive gymnast, I’ve dabbled in track and field, distance running, cheering and tumbling, swimming, collegiate sailing, triathlons and more.
I deeply enjoy a challenge. I’ve always tried to stay as well rounded as possible: one day I am on the reformer, maybe the next day I'm on the Peloton or lifting… or getting my workout in lifting toddlers.
As a mom of two, I’ve found it deeply important to treat my body as well as I can so that I can (sometimes!) feel like the best, strong and capable parent I can be.
I started teaching Pilates over 20 years ago while studying at BU. My first instructor training courses were through Power Pilates, followed by the STOTT Pilates Mat certification, then my full comprehensive 400+ hour certification through Balanced Body.
Around 2016 I was introduced to classical Pilates and I immediately fell in love with the traditional system. I have devoted the better part of the last decade to re-learning the entire system through the lens of classical Pilates and my personal practice and teaching has never felt stronger or more focused.
Aside from Pilates, I have also been certified in Barre, Spinning, TRX and Personal Training throughout the years.
But where trends fade… Pilates stays evergreen for me.
Having been a part of the Pilates community for so long, it’s wildly exciting to see the rest of the world exploding with interest in this method that I’m so in love with. I want to do my part in educating and empowering the next generation of Pilates teachers so we can all continue this fantastic work for many years to come!
